SportCamp is a camp for everybody. Even though many things are called competitions, its all really play. Nobody has to do anything they don’t want to and everyone gets to try everything they do want. Some children are very competitive when they come to our camps and make use of that. Others are not regular athletes and are encouraged to try something new. Our skilled coaches make sure everyone feels part of the group and have fun together!
Together with our friendly yet professional coaches and sport heroes we will show your child how everything is done easier with a positive attitude. ”I’ll do it!” is our motto! Through a positive thinking everything from sports to school becomes easier. SportCamp is also a first step to independence – and not least making new friends. Many of our campers stay in touch long after the week is over.
SportCamp was founded by mother of three Annika Lunding in the summer of 2000. The idea of a joyful yet educational sport camp had been on Annika´s mind for a long time, and following the introduction demand has continously increased. And although we do grow, our number one priority is always to make sure SportCamp is everything our campers dreamed of - and more!
Some important events during a SportCamp week at a sleeping over camp
1. Morning assembly
The morning assembly takes place every day, the flag is hoist and a canon marks the beginning of yet another great day!
2. The tidier the better
Throughout the camp runs a ”Tidiness Tournament” – and by the end of the week we announce the proud winners. A memorable price, not least for mum and dad to admire on your shelf back home!
3. The quest for bracelets!
The green bracelets have become somewhat of a symbol for the SportCamp philosophy and are handed out after dinner each day. The idea is for the bracelets to stand for a positive action, a proof that you have perhaps accomplished more than you believed possible, was a great friend to someone who needed you or why not offered an extra hand in the kitchen! The more bracelets you come across, the more stories you also have to bring back home.
4. SportCamp Games
Apart from sports, our coaches also arrange a range of fun games – everything from thriathlon to tug-of-war will pop up during your stay. One of the most popoular challanges is however ”catch the flag”, where two teams compete in collecting as many hidden flags as possible. The coaches and the children are often facing each other in this game, and the winners are as always the….!
5. Last night with the gang
The last night of the camp is of course devoted to a restaurant and disco! The day however starts off with ”carrot games”, where campers in each room are assigned different tasks. Depending on how well you succeed, you then earn your carrot money ¬– which in the evening can be exchanged for fun treats in the restaurant and disco!
At SportCamp, we develop and extend our activities continously, without in any way stepping down in terms of quality. Even though we may introduce new types of camps, such as SportCamp Golf, SportCamp Solbacka or SportCamp Nåttarö, our goal always remains the same - for eveyone, in a fun and easygoing manner, to try a wide range of sports in one and the same week!
